Terms of service.
The rules of the road for using StageSide. Written so you can read them.
Last updated: June 1, 2026
The short version
StageSide is software you and your studio use together. By signing in you agree to use it for its intended purpose, to keep your account secure, to treat other users with respect, and to pay for the service if your plan requires payment. We agree to provide the service in good faith, to protect your data per our Privacy Policy, and to give you reasonable notice before material changes.
Who can use StageSide
StageSide is intended for dance studios, the families they serve, and the dancers in those families. Studios are responsible for the accounts they create for staff and for inviting families. Adults are responsible for the accounts of their minor dancers. You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction to open a studio account.
Accounts
Keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else got into your account. Information you put in StageSide must be accurate. Studios are responsible for keeping their staff and family rosters up to date.
Acceptable use
Do not use StageSide to harass, threaten, defame, or harm anyone. Do not upload content you do not have the rights to share. Do not attempt to bypass safety controls, especially the ones that protect minors. Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service. Do not use StageSide to send unsolicited marketing to families or studios.
Studio responsibilities
If you operate a studio on StageSide, you are responsible for the information your studio enters about dancers, families, staff, classes, payments, and messaging. You agree to follow the laws that apply to you, including child-protection laws, tax law, and any state or local rules about youth activities.
Family and dancer rights
Parents and dancers have the right to access the records StageSide holds about them, to ask for corrections, to export their data, and to request archive or removal through the consent workflow. The studio and the dancer share ownership of the dancer's record. Neither side can quietly delete it without consent from the other.
Payments
During early access StageSide is free. We will give studios advance notice before we begin charging, and the price will be published before you are asked to pay. Parents and dancers do not pay for StageSide. Tuition, costume fees, and competition fees collected through the app flow through Stripe to the studio's bank account, subject to Stripe's own terms.
Cancellation and termination
Studios can stop using StageSide at any time. We will give you a way to export your data. We can suspend or end an account if it is being used in violation of these terms, especially in ways that put minors at risk, and we will tell you why.
Changes to the service
StageSide is actively built. We will add features, change features, and sometimes remove features. For significant changes that affect how you use the service or how your data is handled, we will give you advance notice through the app or by email.
Disclaimers
StageSide is provided as is. We work hard to keep it accurate, available, and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any specific purpose beyond running a dance studio. We do not warrant any specific outcome from using the service.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, StageSide is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid StageSide in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we will post the new version here with an updated date. If a change is material we will also notify you directly.
